undoubtedly aimed at reducing chassis tubing flexing, stress and failure.

ALTAMONT EXPANDS RACING FACILITIES
There may be a few readers who remember the ill-fated 1969 Rolling Stones concert at Altamont Speedway near Tracy, CA, involving the Hell's Angels. Now Altamont Motorsports Park has been upgraded to include a wider half-mile NASCAR track, a road course, andcourses for drifting and for figure-8's. Future plans also include a lighted eighth-mile drag strip according to CEO John Condren, whose organization acquired Altamont in January and also heads the Riverside Motorsports Park development in Atwater, CA. TROXEL TO BE ON 'CBS SUNDAY MORNING'
NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Top Fuel points leader Melanie Troxel will be featured on the national network news show, CBS Sunday Morning, with host Charles Osgood, this Sunday, May 14.
Troxel, 33, who drives the Skull Shine/Torco Race Fuels Top Fuel dragster for Don Schumacher Racing, was interviewed at length last weekend at the Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway by CBS correspondent Susan Spencer.

HECKLER TO RUN FULL NMCA SCHEDULE
Ike Heckler of IH Racing sent the Agent the good news that he has enough sponsorship to be able to run the rest of the 2006 National Muscle Car Association schedule and a couple of National Street Car Association events. The Pennsylvania-based team runs a '67 Pontiac LeMans. [5-10-2006]
