ODDY WILL HELP QUINT TEAM GET READY FOR 2007

Agent 1320 confirmed with Jim Oddy that he and either his son Dan or Dave will go to pre-season testing with team owner Steve Quint, who purchased Oddy’s world record-holding 2006 Dodge Stratus in turn-key condition, to help that team and new driver George Landis get ready for their first race of the season.
The Quint team’s current plans are to open the season in late January in Florida at Bradenton Dragway’s U.S. Street Nationals. The team also will have their ten-wide GTO Judge at the Bradenton event.
Oddy told the Agent from his retirement villa on the shores of Lake Norman in the Carolinas, “I want to make it clear that currently I have no plans to get more involved with the team past going to the test sessions.” He did say, though, that he will consult with the team whenever asked. The Agent will keep his eye on this situation. [1-5-2007]

A photo of his new Dodge Charger Funny Car, to be sponsored by Monster Energy Drink and Lucas Oil, is not available because it will be unveiled and initially photographed at The Strip at LVMS Jan. 19. The three-day test session is open to the public and drag racing fans will get a sneak peak at their favorite drivers and the new cars before the 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series season begins.
“In order to renew my Funny Car license, I will have to make two runs of 5.50 seconds or quicker and two runs of 250 mph or faster,” Bernstein explained. “We hope to accomplish this early in the session so we can concentrate on tune-up combinations."
