FULLER IN THE SEAT

The Agent has been hearing rumors, apparently started by the Nitromater
Website, that Rod Fuller is out of David Powers Racing. There had been rumblings along the same subject line back at the World Finals.
A quick check with Valvoline Motorsports boss Brian Emrich made it clear that their sponsorship at David Powers Racing, “is contingent upon Rod Fuller being in a competitive car for the entire year and in the fight for the NHRA Championship at every race. David Powers has provided a great value for the Valvoline brand and is putting us in the Winner’s Circle.”
The response from David Powers was, “There are a lot of rumors out there, but Rod Fuller is the driver of the Valvoline dragster and he is under contract with David Powers Racing through 2008 -- and I’m the guy who’s signing the checks.”
And the lesson, as the Agent learned back in Journalism 101: check your sources. (Ron Lewis photo) [12-7-2006]

BRADENTON FOLLOWS SPEED WORLD’S LEAD, ADDS GUARD WALLS
The Agent got a call from Slip-Tech, Inc., which is going to install guard walls at Carl Weisinger’s Orlando Speed World, host of the annual World Street Nationals, to say that when the company completes the work at Speed World they will head down to Bradenton and install guard walls at that facility. A tip of the Agent’s hard hat to the management at both Florida tracks for spending their hard-earned bucks to make their tracks safer for their racers and fans. [12-7-2006]
