WORLD’S QUICKEST WEDGE (WE THINK)

Bubba Stanton ran the quickest ET for a wedge motored car for the eighth mile at 3.897 during the American Drag Racing League’s World Finals in Kennedale, TX. Stanton’s ’63 Corvette is powered by an Alan Johnson wedge and a Kobelco 18-71 supercharger prepped by Darren Mayer.
Stanton would have had both ends of the qualifying marks but Josh Hernandez driving on home turf got the speed mark with a 3.960/188.57 blast in the last round of eliminations. (Jeff Burk photo) [10-19-2006]
